You will be picked up by your guide/driver, who will take you through a briefing of the next 3-day Rwanda Gorilla Photography Safari, including rules and regulations of photography in Volcanoes National Park and Rwanda in general. Later, you will begin your drive from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park. The journey typically takes about 2.5 to 3 hours and provides ample opportunities to photograph the Rwandan countryside, including hills, terraced farmland, and villages. Arrive at the park and check into your lodge, where you can relax and prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure. In the evening, your guide will take you through a pre-briefing about the gorilla trekking experience and photography tips to help you make the most of the next day's trek. Enjoy a relaxed dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Rise early and drive to the park headquarters after your breakfast. Upon arrival, you will have a briefing by experienced park rangers, who will explain the rules of the trek and provide safety guidelines. After the briefing, you will set off into the jungle as you search for these endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitats, and you capture shots of birds, butterflies, or other wildlife in the park.
Once you find the gorillas, you will have one hour to observe and photograph them. Mountain gorillas are generally calm and curious, thus providing an exciting opportunity to capture them in their natural environment. The gorillas are often found feeding, playing, or resting, so you will be able to capture a wide range of behaviors.
After your incredible gorilla experience, you will trek back to the starting point, where you will meet your guide and return to your lodge to relax and enjoy the evening.
