You will visit Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania where you will trek the endangered mountain gorillas, meet the largest herds of elephants in the world and explore the world's biggest dormant crater in Ngorongoro. Experience the best of African culture where you will take part in traditional dances, weaving lessons among others.
Detailed itinerary
You will be met with your driver-guide at Jomo Kenyatta Airport upon your arrival in Kenya. After introductions and briefing about your trip, you will head for the hotel to check-in. Determined by the time of day you arrive, you can have a great time visiting the Bomas of Kenya.
Located close to 10kilometers from the capital city and approximately 1km from Nairobi National Park's main entrance, the Bomas of Kenya provides you with the rich amazing different cultures that combine to come up with fascinating Kenya. While at Bomas relish the culture portrayed including music, dancing, and way of living.
“Boma” is a Swahili word meaning an enclosed homestead and you will find several Bomas each representing one of the top ethnic tribes of Kenya. Be ready to experience exhilarating traditional dances and presentations before going back to your hotel for a well-awaited dinner. Instead of Bomas, you can alternatively visit Sheldrick Elephant and Rhino orphanage Centre which is a rehab plus rescue center for elephants. Arrive late in the afternoon in Nairobi.
After a spirit-lifting breakfast, you will embark on your transfer south to Amboseli National Park renowned haven for a big number of elephants. This is a peaceful drive through Kenya's savannah countryside s punctuated by numerous homesteads across the striking plains. The plains stretch as far as your eyes can reach and are only interrupted by the outstanding shape of Mount. Kilimanjaro on the horizon. You will be met with sights of Masai herdsmen forming their traditional famous at Amboseli National Park for lunch.
After a refreshing lunch, head out into the African wilderness for an epic afternoon game drive. Be on the lookout for some of the largest herds of elephants you have ever encountered. Other notable animals include Lions, Buffalos, Giraffes, Zebras, and the elusive leopard not forgetting the incredible views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
On the third day of your trip, you will wake up to an amazing breakfast to recharge you for the day's activities. Today will be an action-themed day and dedicated to exhilarating game drives. Tailored to cater stimulate your adrenaline juices yet also give you a relaxing experience, you will have two main game drives on in the early morning and another in the afternoon. You will get plenty of time to appreciate Kenya's diverse wildlife and scenery but still have a break for relaxation.
You will wake up early in the morning for the first game drive and a heavy breakfast before resting and await for a delicious lunch and afternoon game drive later. There's an option for a mid-morning game drive if interested and you can take on the challenge without over resting. After a refreshing delicious lunch, you will set out again for the afternoon game drive. Later in the evening head back to your lodge for refreshing, dinner and rest from the day's activities.
Wake up leisurely for a delightful breakfast then after check out with the help of staff and your guide starts on the journey to the Namanga border point. Here you fly to Arusha town in Northern Tanzania. You will arrive in the afternoon and check-in while welcomed with a scrumptious lunch at your Lodge. After lunch chill and relax to recharge after your transfer from Kenya.
Awaken to a splendid breakfast awaiting you. Shortly thereafter, head to the crater with the company of your experienced guide. Ngorongoro crater holds the record for the largest inert volcanic crater in the world and one of the most intact and purest ecosystems. The crater was created as a result of an ancient volcano collapsing on itself. During the drive on the crater floor, you will be amazed by the wonderful beauty of Tanzania's wilderness.
You will encounter numerous games from African elephants, black rhinos, hyenas, cheetahs, buffalos, lions, hippos, and several other species that are typical of an African safari. You will have a short picnic(packed snack) in the wild and then transfer to Serengeti national park. Later in the afternoon, have a much awaited hot tasty lunch and then head out for an evening game drive and retreat for dinner and well-deserved night sleep.
Your sixth day will be an assured highlight of your safari. After a lovely breakfast, you will kick off your adventure earlier than usual. Following a full-day game drive, you will experience Serengeti in all its splendor. A known refuge for Africa's big five of lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino, Serengeti has more magnificent beauty to offer to visitors from its mesmerizing landscape scenery, unique vegetation, and the greatest migration known all over the world of its wildebeest.
You will have a picnic lunch in Africa’s most intact and complex ecosystems. After proceeding with your game drives and later head back to your lodge for dinner in the evening for a heart-melting meal, rest and recharge for the next day.
Wake up to lovely breakfast and transfer to Tarangire National Park where you will reach in the afternoon, check-in, have lunch before going for an evening game drive. Tarangire is renowned for its nine different vegetation zones spread over a stunning landscape. The park has a name for the huge number of Ancient Baobab trees (the largest trees in Africa) that cover its landscape and make the animals look like dwarfs next to them.
The river in the park is blessed with a wide range of animals from lions, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, leopards, antelopes, and, of course, magnificent elephants. The lunch area is a beautiful spot with a wonderful observatory position and amazing views of wildlife and the river below. If you are lucky you can experience a takedown of prey while enjoying your picnic).
Return to your lodge for a beautiful African sundowner. Chill at the poolside in the comfort of your sofa while waiting for dinner.
After breakfast at your leisure based on your flight schedule to Entebbe-Uganda. You will embark at Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight to Entebbe. You will check-in at your lodge and then have a quick city tour around Entebbe.
After a delightful breakfast, you will transfer from Entebbe to Bwindi National park in the southwestern corner of Uganda. You will have a stopover at the equator for a quick photo shoot for souvenirs at this great phenomenon and continue for lunch in Mbarara then continue to Bwindi. You will be met with the beautiful terraced Ugandan countryside in the west sometimes referred to as the Switzerland of Africa.
You will reach in time for dinner, rest, and wait for gorilla trekking tomorrow morning. This is absolutely a guaranteed highlight of your eleven-day trip.
You wake up so early for breakfast and hereafter head to the park headquarters with your delicious packed lunch. On reaching the offices you will be briefed on the guidelines of what to do and not do while on the tracks and when you finally meet the endangered mountain gorillas. These guidelines include not littering in the park, minimal noise, not feeding the gorillas, and not using flash photography to list a few.
Mountain gorilla trekking normally lasts between 5 to 8 hours based on the location of gorillas and how far they traveled since last spotted. When you finally meet them, you will be offered a great opportunity for fun and awe of these magnificent beasts. Though they have an intimidating physique, gorillas have the most peaceful traits and intriguing character when eating, and protecting their families by the silverbacks. You are only permitted an hour with them as you head back to the lodge for dinner and evening rest.
In the late afternoon, you will have a well-deserved full-body Massage after the wonderful but strenuous gorilla trekking in the great Bwindi rainforest. This will rejuvenate your whole body by harmonizing your mind, body, and spirit in the serene natural setting.
After your breakfast, you will embark on your trip back to Entebbe or Kampala with a tasty lunch en route. This journey approximately lasts six hours and you will arrive at your hotel in Entebbe for check-in, dinner and overnight. You can opt for a scheduled flight to Entebbe instead of driving the long journey back home.
